Invoicing rules in Qatar
Qatar does not currently apply a general VAT, so most commercial invoices are issued net of consumption tax. Corporate income tax and withholding tax on certain payments to non-residents still apply, which is why buyers ask for the supplier's Tax Identification Number and a properly numbered invoice for their own filings.
- Supplier legal name, address and Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- Buyer name and address, plus their tax identifier where registered
- A unique sequential invoice number and issue date
- Line description, quantity, unit price and line total in QAR
- Subtotal, any discount and the total amount payable
- Payment terms, due date and bank transfer details
