Invoicing rules in Qatar

Qatar does not currently apply a general VAT, so most commercial invoices are issued net of consumption tax. Corporate income tax and withholding tax on certain payments to non-residents still apply, which is why buyers ask for the supplier's Tax Identification Number and a properly numbered invoice for their own filings.

  • Supplier legal name, address and Tax Identification Number (TIN)
  • Buyer name and address, plus their tax identifier where registered
  • A unique sequential invoice number and issue date
  • Line description, quantity, unit price and line total in QAR
  • Subtotal, any discount and the total amount payable
  • Payment terms, due date and bank transfer details

Who invoices with DocMak in Qatar

Qatar's contracting, facilities-management, logistics and events sectors run on documentation. Main contractors and semi-government buyers in Doha and Lusail expect suppliers to submit paperwork that carries the Ministry of Commerce and Industry licence number and matches the purchase order line for line before payment is released.

Arabic and English invoices for Qatari buyers

Government and semi-government entities in Qatar frequently require Arabic alongside English on commercial paperwork, particularly for tenders and payment certification. Switch the editor to Arabic and DocMak flips the document to right-to-left, keeps your English descriptions alongside, and exports both languages in one PDF so procurement, banks and government buyers in Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Lusail can all read the same file.
