Create a delivery note online, free

A delivery note is the document that travels with your goods. It tells the receiving store keeper exactly what is on the vehicle, how many units of each item, and who sent them — and it gives that person somewhere to sign that everything arrived intact. Once signed and returned, it is the cleanest proof you have that the customer took delivery, which is why warehouses in Dubai, Riyadh, Doha and Muscat rarely release a shipment without one.

DocMak's delivery note maker builds that document in the browser. Enter your dispatching company and logo, the receiving company and delivery address, a sequential delivery note number, and the items leaving your store. The quantity dispatched is printed; the received column is deliberately left blank so the receiver counts and initials it on the spot. Notes, driver details and both signature blocks are already laid out, so the printed page needs nothing added by hand except signatures and a stamp.

Because the note carries quantities rather than prices, it can be handed to drivers and security without exposing your commercial terms. When the goods are accepted, the priced document follows: issue the tax invoice for the same line items, and if a short delivery or a return changes what the customer owes, correct it with a credit note that references that invoice.

  • Sequential delivery note number, dispatch date and order or invoice reference
  • Separate dispatching-company and receiving-company blocks with ship-to address
  • Item table with quantity dispatched and a blank column for quantity received
  • Notes field for partial deliveries, packaging or handling instructions
  • Dispatched-by and received-by signature and stamp blocks
  • Branded PDF for printing in triplicate, plus email and WhatsApp sharing

How to make a delivery note in 5 steps

About two minutes from a blank form to a printable note. Everything is generated in your browser.

  1. 1

    Add your dispatching company

Enter your company name, address, phone, email and TRN, and upload your logo so the note is recognisable at the customer's gate.

  2. 2

Enter the receiver and ship-to address

Add the customer company, receiving officer, delivery address and contact number so the driver reaches the right door.

  3. 3

    Number and date the note

Give the note its own sequential number, set the dispatch date and reference the related purchase order or invoice.

  4. 4

    List the goods dispatched

Add each item with the exact quantity leaving your store, and leave the received column for the receiver to complete.

  5. 5

    Print for signature or send

Download the PDF and print copies for the driver and the customer, or send it ahead by email or WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

What is a delivery note?+

A delivery note is the paperwork that travels with a shipment. It lists what was dispatched, in what quantity, to which address, and leaves space for the receiver to sign that the goods arrived. It records the handover of goods — it does not request payment.

What is the difference between a delivery note and an invoice?+

A delivery note proves goods were dispatched and received; an invoice asks for money. The delivery note usually shows quantities without prices so the driver and warehouse staff never see commercial terms, while the invoice that follows carries unit prices, VAT and the payment due date.

Should a delivery note show prices?+

Usually not. Most GCC suppliers print quantities only and keep pricing on the invoice, because the note is handled by drivers, security and store keepers. Add prices only when the customer's receiving process specifically asks for a priced dispatch note.

How many copies of a delivery note do I need?+

Three is the common practice: one signed copy stays with the customer, one signed copy comes back with the driver for your records, and one stays in the delivery file. DocMak lets you print as many copies of the same PDF as you need.

What should the receiver sign?+

The receiver signs and stamps the acknowledgement block with their name and the date, confirming the quantities listed were received in good condition. That signed copy is your evidence if a shortage or damage claim is raised later.

Can I use one delivery note for a partial delivery?+

Yes. Enter only the quantities actually dispatched and note the balance in the notes field, then issue a second delivery note with its own number when the rest of the goods ship.

Is DocMak's delivery note maker free?+

Yes. Create delivery notes and download branded PDFs with no signup and no watermark. Create an account only if you want your delivery note history saved for reuse.
