What a Qatar experience certificate should state

Under Qatar Labour Law No. 14 of 2004 an employee is entitled to a certificate of service on leaving, and it should stay factual. Certificates that stray into opinions about performance are the ones that get questioned during attestation.

  • Employee full name as it appears on the passport and Qatar ID
  • Job title held, and the department or project assignment
  • Date of joining and date of leaving, or confirmation of current employment
  • A short factual summary of duties and responsibilities
  • Issuing company name, commercial registration number and address
  • Name, designation and signature of the authorised signatory, plus the company stamp

Attestation and onward use across the Gulf

Experience certificates issued in Qatar are frequently attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then by the destination country's embassy — commonly for roles in Saudi Arabia or the UAE. Attestation offices check that the letterhead, stamp and signatory are consistent and that the Arabic and English versions say the same thing, so issuing one bilingual document is safer than issuing two.

Experience certificate, salary certificate or service letter?

An experience certificate confirms what someone did and for how long. A salary certificate states current remuneration for a bank or landlord. A service letter simply confirms ongoing employment. DocMak keeps each as its own template so you are not editing a payroll figure into a document meant for a future employer.
