MOHRE: The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, which registers mainland employment contracts and work permits.
Fixed-term contract: The standard UAE private-sector contract under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, with a defined start and end date that can be renewed.
Probation: An initial trial period of up to six months, with shorter notice periods than the rest of the contract.
