A product data sheet is how a technical buyer decides whether your product fits. What they look for is narrow: a clear description, a typical-properties table with units and test methods, the approved applications, and packaging and storage detail. Anything else slows the decision down.
This maker keeps that structure and prints a clean branded sheet, so a manufacturer, blender or distributor in the UAE or wider GCC can publish a consistent set of data sheets across a whole product range and pair each one with a safety data sheet and certificate of analysis.
- Product name, code, revision and issue date in the header
- Typical properties table with value, unit and test method
- Description, applications, features and benefits sections
- Packaging, shelf life, storage and handling detail
- Branded PDF export for your website, tenders and buyer enquiries
How to write a product data sheet
- 1
Describe the product in two lines
Say what it is, what it is made from or based on, and the main benefit — before any table.
- 2
Give typical properties with methods
List each property with its typical value, unit and test method so buyers can compare products fairly.
- 3
Add applications and features
Name the uses the product is approved for and the features that matter in those uses.
- 4
Finish with packaging and storage
State pack sizes, shelf life, storage conditions and handling notes, then export the branded PDF.
Frequently asked questions
What is a product data sheet?+
A product data sheet, also called a technical data sheet or TDS, is a one or two page document describing a product's typical properties, applications, features, packaging and storage. It is a sales and specification document, distinct from the batch-specific certificate of analysis and the safety-focused SDS.
What is the difference between a TDS and an MSDS?+
A technical data sheet covers performance: properties, applications, packaging. A material safety data sheet covers hazards: classification, first aid, firefighting, handling, exposure controls and disposal. Most industrial and chemical products need both, and buyers usually request them together.
Should typical values be presented as specifications?+
No. Typical values describe normal production and are not guaranteed limits — label them as typical and keep guaranteed limits in your specification and certificate of analysis. Mixing the two creates commercial exposure when a batch sits at the edge of the range.
How long should a data sheet be?+
One page is ideal, two at most. Buyers scan a data sheet for the property table and the application list; explanation belongs in a brochure or guide, not in the sheet a purchasing engineer prints.
